if ur printer has only a lpt 1 port then u need a lpt to usb converter and use ur printer.

Do you mean that you have been using LPT port and now wish to use a USB port? Normally windows would detect the change. Otherwise go to control panel, select 'printers and other hardware', then select 'view installed printers etc'.
You should see an icon for the printer you are using. Right click the icon and choose properties. Select the 'ports' tab. Here you will see a list of the ports options. Tick the box next to the USB port you wish to use. This will set that port to the first option the computer will try when printing.
The easiest way is to simply plug in the printer to your USB port and let the PC detect and install the drivers. Then make sure you set it as your default printer. Otherwise your print jobs will be sent to the non-existant LPT1 printer!
