How to find out or change the port number of the server??????

i am a student and in my coll the access to many websites are blocked and also downloads........ we have been using proxy software %26#039;your freedom%26#039;..... eventhough it provides access to all sites it is damn slow..... i know the ip address of our network server but they keep changing the port number.... once i find the port number of the server i can download with high speed... so how to find and change the port number of the server..... or is there any way to download at a faster speed by bypassing the firewall of the server?????? i am really in need of this answer...... someone plz help.............|||obviously, they have activity monitoring software on their router. unless you have access to the IT room, GET YOUR OWN SUBSCRIPTION
