How do you port forward on utorrent?

my friend%26#039;s having some trouble. he%26#039;s done everything to try and port forward. he%26#039;s done what you gotta do, but when he tries to see if the port is forwarded properly it says it%26#039;s not.

This is what he%26#039;s done:

He%26#039;s gone Options -%26gt; Preferences and change port and has everything ticked besides for randomize port each start. the he%26#039;s gone Speed test and tested if it was port forwarded correctly, but it wasn%26#039;t.

he%26#039;s trying to port forward 43594. He then changed it to 43595 and tried, then changed it back (that worked for me), but that didn%26#039;t work.

What can he do to make it port forward 43594? Thanks.|||U don%26#039;t port forward from the utorrent programme.

U have to enter your router%26#039;s configuration screen and do it from there.

Most routers are at IP address 192.168.0.1

If u type that address into the address bar of your browser it should bring up your router. There will be setup options somewhere to forward ports.|||Check this out

portforward.com|||I use a Linksys WRT54G wireless router, so this is how I did it.

Use the following steps:

1. Find your Default Gateway address:

- Push Windows+R to open the run program

- Type %26quot;cmd%26quot; (without the parenthesis)

- Type %26quot;ipconfig%26quot; (without the parenthesis) into the command prompt

- Note the Default Gateway and IP Address

2. Open your internet browser and type the Gateway address into the address bar.

3. Enter the username and password. (Default for my router: Username=admin; Password=admin)

4. Click the %26quot;Applications and Gaming%26quot; tab. You should see a chart that says %26quot;Port Range%26quot; across the top.

5. In the first free slot enter the following data:

- Application: utor1

- Start: Refer back to the port number you chose in Utorrent preferences.

- Stop: Add 20 or 30 to the Start number.

- Protocol: Both

- IP Address: Enter the IP Address from the command prompt. You should only have to add the last 3-digit number.

- Click %26quot;Enable%26quot;

6. Click %26quot;Save Settings%26quot;
